The main energy is put to serve concern that hotel development in Bali should necessarily avoid using productive wet-land. For generations, agriculture has been an important part of Bali’s life. Chopping rice-fields for hotel development can be viewed as a critical issue. The founder simply choose Bali’s bare land for any mimpi development taking all risk that it is a lot more works to do. But the challenge is, at the same time, an excitement. The core is to set up a garden which melts with the existing beauty of the park nature.

With a total of 4.5 hectares, the mimpi ground at menjangan is formed by a layer of limestone covered by a black muddy sediment on top. It cracks during the dry but it gets sticky during the wet and it does not hold water much during the rain. There are only few plants originally grow on the ground including pilang (acasia), pidara, kopi-kopi and intaran.

The existing ground is the very first challenge to work out. Led by a Balinese landscaper Gusti Suanjaya with a team of dedicated local gardener from neighboring villages, a plan is put by dedicating 60% of the ground for open green space and only 40% for building site. A technique was determined by combining organic composing with use of extra soil which was trucked from the neighboring villages. Holes are dug many parts of the ground and through several months of composing process, the ground gradually becomes ready to accommodate other kind of plants. The existing original plants are kept and even added. Other plants of similar character are brought and planted including sawo kecik and gamalina. Grassy space is kept between plants with path-walks winding through all ground.
